I changed the image and the date. The new image is of a better quality and the date is more accurate.

Finished Editing With Sounds

After all the editing was completed. We started to work on the sounds. Sounds varied from sound effects, to dubbing. When we dubbed all the voices, none of the teachers were free so we got other people to do it for them. we used Logic Pro to record the voices and to match them up with the video clips. With logic pro, we also created sounds such as when he enters the dream world.

Audience Feedback Without Sounds

For our audience feedback we got some students from other classes to view our films. They gave the following feedback:

· The music was nice; the sound effects worked well with the nature of the film and created suspicion which was good as it reflected the mission impossible theme.

· The animations were funny; it allowed the character to do things that he wouldn’t be able to do in human form.

· The end was slightly confusing because it was unclear what was happening.

· The actor’s acting was very good but needed to be more believable.

· The story flowed well e.g. the part where there was a swirly dream effect to show that we were going into hid imagination.

· The idea of film and animation combined was great - the transitions between both film and animation were good.

· The music was good.

· The voice over timing in the mother scene was also very good.

After hearing the feedback we had a group discussion to reflect on our work. We decided that most important thing we needed to work on was our ending because at the moment it is confusing to the audience as to happens at the end of the film. However at this stage we were finding it bery difficult to come up with any bright ideas.

Editing

At first, i went through all the clips and put them in order, including what sounds we would need and what transitions and effects. None of us had any experience with Final Cut, so we had two people come in to give us a basic tutorial of how to use it. However, before they came, we had a look ourselves. We managed to pick up some of the basics and had even started editing. There was a couple of problems that we did not know how to fix such as rendering, etc. But after we were helped, we started to piece the film bit by bit including transitions. we needed.

Complication

There was a problem with our external hardrive. It started to smoke up and after that, we could not use it. We lost alot of our work. Most things were backed up except the recording that we took on the first shoot. This meant that we had to refilm. Luckily, Mr Bruce was free, although, the weather was not good that day as it was raining. However, even with the bad weather, we managed to get through it and get through most of the scenes. Some scenes we were unable to do, due to lack of time.

5th Animation

This scene took me some time because i did the scene in the opposite direstion. Instead of nathan going right to left, i made it left to right. I had to redo the whole thing but i realised it was much easier to do it again because i knew what i was doing.

4th Animation

The beggining of the scene i made a couple of mistakes with the walking. It doesnt look like he is actually walking but i do not know how to make him do this as i have never done it before. This sceen was a little complex to do as there are alot of things going on. But in the end, i managed to do it.

The second scene that i did was the POW scene. Here, syeda made the background and i did the animation. I made alot of mistakes on this scene but at the end of it, i almost managed to get it how i wanted.

Creating Poster

I was designated to create the poster. I already had a lot of experince in this as i had already used this software before and i also took a course in photography where we had to use photoshop. I had already found a font called Action Jackson on the internet which i used on the logo. I thought that this would be good to use on the poster. I also found another font called goosebumps which i thought reminded me of aliens and i thought this would be perfect for the main title. I used an alien from the one syeda created before and i cut out Mr Bruce from the picture we took from the last shoot. the background is an image from the first scene i had created.

Filming Continued....

This time we had to film the aliens scenes. As i had an interview for university, i was unable to make it. Taslima was in charge of getting the van. She emailed Mr Harding and got permission to use the van. As one of our aliens was eligible to drive a van, we allocated him to be driver. Our other aliens were ben cole and alan.

First Day Of Filming

Today was our first day of filming. We had already confirmed with Mr Bruce that we were going to film. When we filmed, it was quite disorganised as none of us knew what we were doing. However, towards the end we improved alot. Taslima was not in that day so we had to do it without her. Sultana and Syeda had already arranged things with Mr McIntosh and Mr Williams with the speakers and that was sorted for the first scene. The first shot was with Mr Bruce crawling on the floor and i was the camera woman. As i have already had experience with a camera, i did not find it that hard. I also filmed the shot outside of Mr Bruce creeping besides the fence. There was a couple of problems with the camera due to the stand. The floor was not level, so when i panned right to left, the camera shook. We then fixed the stand and shot the film again. The fence was also too high so we had to put Mr Bruce on a table. Sultana did the last shot between the mum and nathan talking to each other. We had a few problems as the fence was too high. We resolved the problem by putting the camera on a chair so it was on the same angle. Every time we filmed, we took it a couple of times so that if one take looked better than the other, we would have a choice whether or not we would use it. One problem we had whilst filming outside was that we did not anticipate that it would be so cold and therefore our actors got cold. However, todays shoot was a success. We even managed to take a couple of pictures for the poster.

Script writing

As I was in charge of the animation, it was decided that between taslima and sultana, they would create the script for the film and also the radio trailer.

A Change Of Actors

We had everything sorted to film and was waiting for Mr Davey to come. However, we find out that he again forgotton about it. We decided that we had to change the mother and the lead character. We needed the person to look simarly to Mr davey so we all had a thought about who we could use and found Mr Bruce looked kind of like Mr Davey. When we went to go ask him if he could play this part, and he agreed. For the mother, we asked Mrs Thunder and she also agreed.

Creating My First Scene

We split the workload between the four of us. We all decided to take a scene each when it came to creating the animation. The scene I was allocated was the scene where the alien waved at nathan. It took alot of time and help. But in the end, i was very happy with my first ever scene. During this time i found that the others had not done any of their scenes so i would have to start on theirs which i was not too happy about.
